The Story of SmokeWood

Come join us at our chuckwagon, pardner!

It all started when a food craving resulted in a cookout, then evolved into a concept, and is now culinary complete and ready to cater!
SmokeWood is a full-fledged mobile restaurant that’s “fired-up” to deliver a new dining experience at The Lodge at Blue Sky this summer.

SmokeWood’s seasonal operation will host its grand opening at The Lodge at Blue Sky on Father’s Day weekend, followed by weekly Friday dinners at Gracie’s Farm through Labor Day.
At Gracie’s, a rotating menu of Texas-Style craft barbecue or traditional Tex-Mex border classics will be served, while special menus are planned for major summer holiday celebrations at the Lodge.

SmokeWood was created and is owned by Park City local David Williams, a Texas native with an oddly varied resume. He retired from a successful law career to become an award-winning author, then embarked on a brief career as an admittedly mediocre stand-up comedian. As much as he enjoyed the law, literature, and the laughs, cooking for others has always been a constant passion and an affinity for the flavors of his childhood compelled him to try his hand as a professional pitmaster and chef. “Not in it for the money, just for the love and the leftovers,” is how he describes the SmokeWood venture.

The Texas-Style Craft Barbecue menu will feature barbecue platters and sandwiches, a la carte smoked meats, desserts and more.
The Tex-Mex (Fiesta Comida) menu includes quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas, tamales and traditional sides and desserts.

Yuta, The Lodge at Blue Sky's signature restaurant, will curate the beverage menu which will offer homemade lemonade, High West Whiskey cocktails, margaritas, Mexican beer and Saving Gracie's beer, a private label IPA created especially for the Saving Gracie Equine Healing Foundation.

SmokeWood’s services are also available for private events on request.
